We're winding down to the end of our careers here at Phillips Andover and it's a very exciting, but also very bittersweet time. Next year, Graeme will attend Stanford University, Glenn will attend Wesleyan University, and Brooks (CEO-Indonesia) will attend Boston College.
The most up-to-date plan for this coming year:
We will finance as many qualified teen Taiwanese scholars as our funds allow; they will be taking a year-long course at either the Lian Chen or Xue Chen Computer Centers, which will provide them with an international CISCO certification.
In subsequent years, will begin our micro-finance program by lending to the graduates of our program. For this inaugural year, we will simply be providing scholarships.
We're well on our way to our fundraising goal - but we still need a lot of help!
I'd like to give a big thank you to those of you who've donated already, we'll be sending you newsletter updates!
In other news - we're looking for plane tickets to Taiwan; we've promised in the mailers that 100% of the money we raise goes directly to the scholarships - and we will stand by that. However, if anyone (or any business) would like to donate 1 plane ticket, it would hugely helpful.
